Records created or compiled by the dean of the School of
Education, mostly dating from the 1960s and 1970s. The collection contains a few records
from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's (UWM) predecessor institutions. The majority of the
collection consists of files concerning activities and programs within the School of
Education and its departments including committee activities; curriculum and program
developments and reviews; conferences and workshops; reports; the departmental
reorganization and plans for the future of the School; and School accreditation.
Well-documented programs include Community Education, Community Resources Workshops,
Cultural Foundations of Education, Curriculum and Instruction, the Early Childhood Center
and Early Childhood Department, Exceptional Education, the Lakeshore Curriculum Study
Council, Triple T (Training of Teacher Trainees or TTT), and Urban Education.
