Biography/History
The Milwaukee Dry Dock Company ran two docks in the Milwaukee shipyard. William
Edmund Fitzgerald, the father of Edmund Fitzgerald whom the ship is named after,
served at various times as Secretary, Treasurer and President of the company.
Scope and Content Note
This collection consists of various business records of the Milwaukee Dry Dock
Company between 1891 and 1930, including by-laws, minutes, company shares and
photographs.

There is no clear acquisition information is currently available for this
collection. Original box label and folders seem to indicate this came from the
State Historical Society of Wisconsin and there is a processing note dated 1978.
