The European Consulates of Milwaukee served both the state of Wisconsin as well as Minnesota. This collection contains reproductions of a variety of materials, mostly correspondence, from 1855 to 1967.

In this era, the European Consulates of Milwaukee served both the state of Wisconsin as well as Minnesota.

This collection contains reproductions of a variety of European consular materials, mostly correspondence, from 1855 to 1967. Much of the correspondence is in the native language of the consulate.

The records are arranged alphabetically by the office of origin.

Acquisition Information

The collection was solicited by the Milwaukee Public Library in 1978 from the Foreign Affairs Ministries of European countries. Materials were accessed as Local History Manuscripts.
