Scope and Content Note
This collection is a scrapbook created and titled "Wisconsin Electric Railways" by an
unknown author. The scrapbook focuses on Southeastern Wisconsin’s interurban
electric railways. It contains mainly clippings but also includes some publications,
a few photographs, correspondence, notices, ticket stubs and schedules. Some
companies and railways mentioned are Milwaukee Electric Railway & Light Company
(T.M.E.R. & L. Co.), Greyhouse Bus Lines, Kenosha Motor Coach Lines, Inc., East
Troy Railroad Museum and the Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee Railway.
Arrangement of the Materials
Scrapbook was partially deconstructed and most of the original order was lost when it
was discovered. Remainder of pages were removed and reorganized. Original binder is
loose in the box. Subjects are arranged alphabetically and then chronologically
within each folder.
