Biography/History
Michael McGee, Jr. graduated in 1999 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM)
with a B. A. in political science. During this time he also worked as a substitute
teacher for Milwaukee Public Schools and after graduating he worked as an academic
advisor for UWM from 2000-2004. He was elected as alderman to the City of
Milwaukee’s 6th District in 2004, defeating longtime incumbent Marlene Odom-Johnson.
McGee’s father, Michael McGee Sr., was the City of Milwaukee’s 10th District
Alderman from 1984-1992. McGee’s tenure as an alderman was tumultuous. In May of
2007 he was arrested on federal and state charges and ended up serving 6½ years. He
unsuccessfully ran for re-election in 2008 from jail. In 2013 he began a career in
fitness/nutrition.
