Abstract:
Papers of Charles E. White and records of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons (F&AM) of Wisconsin, 1948-1978, consisting of White's personal memorabilia from the 1940s and 1950s related to his time as a student at UW-Madison's Law School, his military service, and his political activities. Papers related to Charles and other members of the White family (K.S. White and F.M. White), such as letters, election materials, and newspapers regarding K.S White's successful 1936 Wisconsin State Senate campaign are also present. Material from the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Wisconsin consists of printed informational and educational materials, and administrative records of the Grand Lodge from 1961-1978, some specifically related to Charles E. White's involvement as Junior Grand Warden, Senior Grand Warden and in 1970-1971 Grand Master. Administrative records also include correspondence, expense records, committee records and reports, lawsuits, conference materials, visitation reports, and information on various Wisconsin Masonic lodges.
