Legislative papers of a Republican congressman who represented the northern Milwaukee suburbs in the Wisconsin Assembly and Senate (1969-1978) and in the House of Representatives (1979-). The collection consists entirely of papers pertaining to his career in the Wisconsin Legislature. The bulk of the papers are arranged as an alphabetical subject file comprised of correspondence from constituents, colleagues, advocacy groups, and state and legislative agencies and materials on specific legislation and committee assignments. Also included are sampled constituent assists; personal correspondence; and newsletters, columns, questionnaire summaries, press releases, microfilmed biographical clippings, and other public relations materials. Especially well documented topics include Sensenbrenner's expertise in educational finance, the state budget and his membership on the Ethics and Judiciary committees.
There is a restriction on access to this material; see the Administrative/Restriction Information portion of this finding aid for details.
