Family papers of John and Louisa Smith of the Town of Bradford, Rock County, Wisconsin; including correspondence, 1832-1871, concerning family life and finances, farm life and prices, religion, the Civil War, their son Albert's postwar army life at Ft. Snelling, Minnesota, and Louisa's family in New Hampshire. Also includes deeds, receipts, William Sargent's 1675 will from Salem, Massachusetts; a broadside, 1861, concerning a stolen horse; business college brochure and diplomas; proceedings, 1864, of the First Free-Will Baptist Church of Bradford; a clipping and a history, circa 1954, of the Smithton School, circa 1846-1954, by J. B. Tracy.
