Abstract: The collection consists largely of the correspondence files of the department chair with the dean of the College of Letters & Science, prospective students, faculty, and other campus officials concerning recruitment, funding, budgeting, appointments and curriculum. The collection also contains background materials, agendas and minutes of the departmental meetings, executive committees and several other intra-departmental committees; and graduate program reviews and proposals.
