Subgrp: 3. League of Patriotic Women, 1917 : This league formed in 1917 in response to the United States' entrance into World War
I. The Woman's Club of Wisconsin invited all the women from various clubs in Milwaukee
to join them in March of 1917 to form the league. Soon after the league merged with
the National League for Women's Service, which was based in New York City. Records
include information on the first meeting and the formation of the league.
