Arrangement of the Materials

The collection is arranged as four series:

1. Non-Catalog Materials, 1896-1997
2. Catalogs, 1912-2000
3. Manuscript, 1978
4. Pedigrees, undated

The first series includes all non-catalog materials, such as memorabilia, correspondence, newspaper clippings, newsletters, reports, committee minutes, and other publications from associations of dog owners. These files are arranged alphabetically by subject, then chronologically. The second series includes all of the dog show catalogs. These files are organized alphabetically by name of the dog club, then chronologically. The third series contains a single manuscript written by John S. Best. The fourth series consists of dog pedigrees recorded on index cards and alphabetically arranged.
