Physical Description: 5.0 cubic feet (5 record center cartons), 1 audio recording, and 1 video recording 
Scope and Content Note: Files, 1997-1999, of department staff and contract employees who headed the electronic preparation for the year 2000 for Wisconsin state government. Included are files of Douglas Bingenheimer, who exercised functional responsibility for the state institutions; Bill Braham, who dealt with research and communications issues; Paul Kronberger; and Frank Paynter and Chris Kauffold, who dealt with telecommunications. Many staff who worked on this team-based project are not documented. In general the files consist of planning and development materials, e-mail communications, charts and spread sheets, meeting agenda and minutes, and handwritten notes. The files include some information on the Executive Oversight Committee, but more extensive files on that planning group are more likely to be found in the files of Linda Seemeyer, whose papers have not yet transferred to the Archives. Additional administrative records of Bill Braham have also not yet been transferred. Bingenheimer's files primarily concern planning in the departments of Corrections, Natural Resources, Transportation, and Workforce Development. Kronberger's planning files are similar but also include documentation on the project's public education campaign including sound and video PSAs that were produced. Chris Kauffold's files contain information on Y2K compliance among various Wisconsin companies and public utilities. Audio recording has been assigned call number Audio 1776A/2.
