Papers of John Edwards, a Hazel Green, Wisconsin, lead mining speculator, general store operator, and head of the lumbering firm Edwards and Clinton. Included are accounts, statements, deeds and land contracts, invoices, and receipts. Most informative is correspondence to Edwards from his son, John, Jr., 1858-1868, while the son was managing logging and sawing operations in Wood County, Wisconsin. Edwards and Clinton later developed into the Nekoosa-Edwards Paper Company. English
