Lester W. Lindow Papers, 1958-1978

Scope and Content Note

The papers relate entirely to Lindow's work as executive director of AMST. The majority of the collection relates to presentations made before the Federal Communications Commission, various congressional committees, and other groups. Included are prepared statements, briefs, exhibits, testimony, and petitions presented by Lindow or by lawyers representing the AMST. Although the files do not present a complete record of the organization's activity with regard to governmental regulation of broadcasting, they do represent its position on such important issues as VHF and UHF frequency allocation, pay television, and Community Antenna Television. The remainder of the collection consists of annual statements to the membership, miscellaneous press releases and publications, and a copy of a speech made by Lindow before the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association.
