Logs, 1954-1955, 1966 11 boxes (9.6 cubic feet) : Logs, including schedules and other kinds of registers. During 1954 and 1955 the stations were known as WRCA/WRCA-TV, but by 1966 the names had changed to WNBC/WNBC-TV. The papers are organized chronologically by station. For WRCA there are logs and schedules; local program, commercial, and news scripts; continuity; and master broadcast and talent reports. For WRCA-TV there are logs and schedules, program routines, master broadcast reports, commercial scripts, and spot announcements. For WNBC/WNBC-TV there are only program logs. Unlike the holdings for WRCA-TV, which are spotty, the WNBC-TV logs are complete from May to November 1966.

McFadden, Thomas B. (1917-). Papers, 1947-1950, 1956 2 boxes (0.6 cubic feet) : Papers of a general manager of WRCA/WRCA-TV who was director of spot sales, 1952-1954, and vice president of owned-and-operated stations and spot sales in 1954. The papers pertain to his first tenure as general manager and to a period during 1956 when, although heading the O & O division, he again seems to have exercised responsibility as general manager at WRCA. The collection is divided into SUBJECT FILES and PROGRAM FILES, with individual folders arranged alphabetically. The collection pertains chiefly to programming, advertising, and promotion at WRCA, although the later files contain some fragmentary material on the O & O division as a whole.

News Scripts, 1960-1969 12 boxes (11.2 cubic feet) : A sample of news scripts broadcast by WNBC and WNBC-TV. The series is arranged chronologically with radio and television scripts filed together. Although the holdings span the period 1960-1969, coverage is best for the first half of the decade. Even for this period the sample clusters around the major national news events such as the national political conventions and the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The majority of the local radio news was broadcast in untitled format, but the television files include substantial examples of news broadcast on such programs as The Eleventh Hour News and The Pressman-Ryan Report.
