Fertig, unproduced, undated : “Fertig was written for Yael Wohl, a TV commercial director. Warner Brothers wanted to buy it as did several other producers but Wohl insisted that he go along as director. Warners refused and Wohl called off the deal. I tried to buy back the script but he was adamant. The rights lapsed and I neglected to buy them. As of this writing, February 1996 [sic -- must mean 1995], Mark Rydell has the novel and refuses to read my screenplay saying he doesn't want to be influenced by my version. This is one of my big disappointments as I think it is a great story.” -- Alvin Boretz

The Invisible People, unproduced, undated : “A film treatment about Robert Hayes who began the Coalition for the Homeless. He sued the city and state successfully to provide shelter. Hayes and I shook hands on a deal. It took me two years to sell the project and then ABC wanted it very badly. Hayes then reneged on our deal and sold it to a movie company which never made the project. This was one of my great disappointments as my show was ready to go and would have done well for the homeless in alerting the television audience to the problem.” -- Alvin Boretz
