U.S. Mss 40AN
|
Part 1 (U.S. Mss 40AN, Audio 1897A): Original Collection, 1941-196616.8 cubic feet (42 archives boxes and 2 oversize folders) and 3 discs The collection was organized by the Archives in two parts, designated here as the Original Collection, 1949-1961, and the Additions, 1941-1966. The Original Collection is composed of Ms. Rosenthal's lighting notes for a number of productions mounted between 1949 and 1961. At her request, these papers (Boxes 1-24) were left in the physical order in which she arranged them: the order of all papers is unchanged and sub-headings appear on individual folders as she had them on her own folders. The Additions contain Ms. Rosenthal's lighting notes for a number of productions mounted between 1941 and 1966. Most of the material is from her work with the New York City Opera Company in the early 1950s, and from Broadway shows dating from the late 1950s up until 1966. The productions are arranged alphabetically by title. The Additions include set designs and light plots for some of the productions represented in the Original Collection.
