UW-Milwaukee Credit Union Records, 1934-1984

Biography/History

The credit union incorporated in 1934 under the name Teachers College Credit Union. The credit union allowed the university's faculty and staff to borrow money at low interest rates. The credit union also encouraged them to start savings accounts, and had a special plan to help faculty through the lean summer months. In 1985, the Universityof Wisconsin-Milwaukee Credit Union consolidated with the University of Wisconsin Credit Union.
