Accession 2011-002, boxes 1-2 of Accession 2016-009, the divisional committee and
grievance folders in the electronic files, boxes 5-7 of Accession 2016-019, boxes 1-8
and 11 of Accession 2020-012, and boxes 1-2 of Accession 2020-030 are restricted under UWM's Personnel File Policy. Consult an
archivist for details.
There are no access restrictions on the rest of the materials, and the collection is open
to all members of the public in accordance with state law.
The researcher assumes full responsibility for conforming with the laws of libel,
privacy, and copyright which may be involved in the use of this collection (Wisconsin
Statutes 19.21-19.39).
An unknown individual transferred the collection to the Archives prior to 1989. The
office of the Secretary transferred additional records in September 1998 (accession
1998-018) and October 1998 (accession 1998-029). Mark Schwartz, the Search and Screen
Committee Chair, donated additional materials in July 2011 (accession 2011-002). The
office of the Secretary transferred additional records in fall 2016 (accessions 2016-009
and 2016-019) and summer 2019 (accession 2020-012 and 2020-030).
Michele Christian processed the collection at the Archives in June 1997. Jessica Sawinski
processed the 1998 accessions and added them to the collection in November and December
2006. Charles Welborn processed additional material in August 2012. Hayley Jackson updated
the finding aid to include information about accession 2011-002 in August 2013. Claire
Dinkelman minimally processed the 2016-009 and 2016-019 accessions in December 2016. Brad
Houston minimally processed the 2016-009 digital files in December 2016. Derek Webb
minimally processed accession 2020-012 in February 2021. Derek Webb minimally processed accession
2020-030 in June 2021.
During Winter 2016-2017, the electronic files received as part of the collection were
migrated from floppy disks to the Archives' file server and renamed where necessary to
provide appropriate file extensions. Files at risk of obsolescence were converted to
preservation formats using the National Archives of Australia's XENA digital preservation
tool. Original files will be retained as long as is technically practical.
In February 2021 digital storage media from accession 2020-012 were separated from the
collection to conduct digital processing.
In June 2021 digital storage media from accession 2020-030 were separated from the
collection to conduct digital processing.
