Scope and Content Note: Additions, 1886-1998, consisting of historical materials, correspondence, minutes, committee files, financial records, and subject, project, program, activity, and event files concerning COPE, Labor Day activities, the Dane County Economic Summit, strike and plant closing support, and other subjects. Also included are files (1988-1992) concerning Jim Cavanaugh's participation on committees and task forces to plan the Monona Terrace convention center in Madison, originally designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The photographs include historical images, strikes and picketing, and the MFL 75th anniversary dinner. The sound recordings include speeches, radio ads, radio shows, and interviews. The videocassettes include local labor programs and programs featuring politicians, primarily addressed to a labor audience.
