The Inter-Society Council was formed in 1925 at the Wisconsin State Normal School in
Milwaukee. In 1932 its name was changed to the Intersorority Council, and in 1958 it became
the Panhellenic Council.
This organization governed and coordinated activities between the social sororities on
campus. The Panhellenic Council was also part of a nation-wide organization, the National
Panhellenic Conference.
