The GMCHP's records are divided into two series: REPORTS and CHRONOLOGICAL FILES.
The REPORTS series consists of detailed reports compiled in coordination with the GMCHP on different healthcare related subjects from the years 1969 to 2000 (primarily 1969-1987). These include studies on the population demographics and healthcare coverage and availability in counties directly surrounding Marshfield, compiled minutes from GMCHP meetings including meetings with its partner Blue Cross, issues with Medicare and Medicaid services, and other health care related issues.
The CHRONOLOGICAL FILES series, 1963-1991 (primarily 1967-1987) consist of memoranda, meeting minutes, correspondence, and reports. Topics of these GMCHP records range from and include financial records, summaries of participant numbers, utilization, costs, and other patient related data, relations with local doctors affiliated with the plan and Marshfield Clinic, and other administrative issues associated with day-to-day operations of the GMCHP. A detailed, chronological index to the entire collection compiled by Jan Coombs is also included.
