Wisconsin. Governor's Advocacy Committee on Children and Youth: Records, 1948-1975

Biography/History

This committee was appointed in 1948 under the name Governor's Committee on Children and Youth to work with the White House Conference on Children and Youth. The committee was recreated by Governor Lucey in 1971 and named the Governor's Advisory Committee on Children and Youth. It was named the Advocacy Committee in 1975. By 1977, the committee was no longer active. Its purpose was to promote the study of the needs of youth, to help coordinate services to children and youth, and to provide information to the public.
