Series: Programs, 1978-1980. Collection consists of programs which aired on Channel 18 between 1978 and 1980.
These programs feature a variety of Milwaukee landmarks, including a tour and history of
St. Josaphat Basilica; Milwaukee neighborhoods, including a history of Bay View with
John Gurda; and Milwaukee citizens, including an interview with former mayor Frank
Zeidler. Ruane Hill, professor in the UWM Mass Communications Department, conducted the

conducted by Dr. Diane Hoeveler. Gebhardt was born in 1896 and emigrated from Austria
to the United States in 1907 at the age of 11. She worked 42 years as a waitress for
Northwestern Mutual Life Ins. In the interview clips, Gebhardt shares her experiences
about her arrival to the US by boat and her experiences working in Milwaukee.
