Scope and Content Note

Project files, 1996-2001 (bulk 1999-2001), primarily of Public Health Nursing Director Margaret Schmelzer, on Turning Point, the initiative led by the Division of Public Health to identify top health priorities for the State, create a public health improvement plan every ten years, recommend policy changes, and complete other tasks. Records are grouped into pre-planning files and implementation files, with the majority of records consisting of meeting materials, especially from meetings held by the Transformation Team, Community Review Teams, and Executive Committee. Also included are records from the Data Expert Advisory Work Group (DEAG), which surveyed participants to determine the most significant risk factors to public health.
