Access Restrictions

The unclassified personnel files in boxes 5-9 and in accession 2005-030 are restricted in accordance with UWM Personnel File Policy S-42. Access is regulated by Section III.A.2 and III.A.3.

For items that have preservation and access copies, the preservation copies are restricted. Patrons must use the access copies.

There are no access restrictions on the rest of the collection, which is open to all members of the public in accordance with state law.

Use Restrictions

The researcher assumes full responsibility for conforming with the laws of libel, privacy, and copyright which may be involved in the use of this collection (Wisconsin Statutes 19.21-19.39).

Acquisition Information

The collection originally consisted of twenty processed and unprocessed accessions acquired before 1989. Some Graduate School materials acquired from other university divisions or collected by Archives staff were also added to the collection.

Transfers include personnel files in 1987 (no accession number), 1990 (accession 1990-002), and 1995 (1995-008). A series of search and screen committee files was transferred in October 1996 (accession 1996-020). Janice Warren donated additional materials in November 2005 (accession 2005-030). The Graduate School donated further materials in October 2011 (accession 2011-013).

Processing Information

Christel T. Maass processed the collection in October and November 1995. The personnel files were processed as follows: Meredith Curtis weeded the 1987 accession of personnel files in July 1994. Christel T. Maass added the 1995 accession to the collection in July 1995. In September 1995 Christel T. Maass added the 1990 accession to the collection. Michele Christian added accession 1996-020 to the collection in March 1998. Jeremy Brett added a few folders in December 2006. In July 2008, boxes 6-8 were separated from this series and added to UW-Milwaukee Graduate Faculty Council Records (UWM AC 83). Charles Welborn processed additional material in August 2012. Hayley Jackson updated the finding aid to include information about accessions 2005-030 in August 2013. Brad Houston processed additional material in November 2014. Christel Maass processed accession 2011-013 (boxes 13-14) in August 2015. Phyllis Reske processed some additional material in July 2016 (Brad Houston supervised), and added items to boxes 1 and 3 August 2017.
