Records, mainly dating from 1961 to 1979, documenting the
establishment of field stations for use by the UWM Botany and Zoology Departments. The
Arboretum Committee records document the creation of the Botany and Zoology Departments and
the selection and purchase of suitable land for class study and research purposes. The
activities of the Field Stations Committee are documented through the records of the Field
Stations Committee chair, director, and manager. In addition, correspondence with the
assistant chancellor, dean and associate dean of the College of Letters & Science, and
the vice chancellor concern the activities and proposals of the Field Stations Committee.
The Field Stations bulletins and the annual reports document the activities at the field
stations.
