Subject files, correspondence from prisoners, and memoranda prepared by attorneys to advise Governor Patrick J. Lucey and Acting Governor Martin J. Schreiber about pardons, extraditions, federal grants, DNR land acquisitions, contracts, and other legal matters. A majority of the subject files are those of J. Joseph Sensenbrenner, although the work of other attorneys is also represented. The subject files relate to subjects such as campaign finance, drought, executive clemency, the Department of Natural Resources, Menominee County, and the Wisconsin Council on Criminal Justice. The contract memos are an evidential sample weeded from a larger volume of records.
