Administrative/Restriction Information
The collection is open to all members of the public in accordance with state law. All
physical media must be accessed on a digital access copy. If one does not exist, the
archive will create one for patrons as needed.
The researcher assumes full responsibility for conforming with the laws of libel,
privacy, and copyright which may be involved in the use of this collection (Wisconsin
Statutes 19.21-19.39).
Several donations of Institute of World Affairs records were made to the Archives prior
to 1989. In 1994, two major additions were made to the collection (accessions 1994-002 and
1994-003). The IWA transferred accession 2003-005 to the Archives in July 2003 and
accession 2008-012 in August 2008. The IWA transferred additional materials in July 2008
(accession 2008-004), December 2008 (accession 2008-038), and May 2011 (accession
2010-052).
James P. Kusik processed the collection at the Archives in July-October, 1995. The
project consisted of reprocessing records donated to the Archives prior to 1989 and
integrating major additions to the collection (accession numbers 94-002, and 94-033) made
in 1994. Christel Maass and Charlie Tonelli processed accessions 2003-005 and 2008-012
from February to April 2015. Christel Maass updated the finding aid to include infomation
about the additional accessions in April 2015. Shiraz Bhathena integrated the VHS
accessions into the main collection in November 2019.
