Part 18 (2008/108): Additions, 1984-1998 0.6 cubic feet (2 archives boxes) : Records of Pearson vs. University of Wisconsin, a hiring case brought to the Personnel Commission in 1984 and closed in 1998. Michael Pearson disputed the hiring of a Maintenance Supervisor alleging that the incumbent had been hired over Pearson because the head of the hiring committee had a personal dislike of Pearson. Pearson contended that candidate interviews were scored improperly in order to rank another applicant above Pearson. The Personnel Commission found in Pearson's favor and ruled that should the Maintenance Supervisor Position become available again, Pearson must be appointed to it. Box 1 contains the papers and motions for the 1984 case. Box 2 contains a 1996 Petition for Enforcement of Commission's Orders filed by Pearson after the position became available in 1995 and was left vacant.
