Access Restrictions

The unclassified personnel files in boxes 14-37 and 46, the executive committee minutes in box 45, and accession 2009-001, are restricted in accordance with UWM Personnel File Policy S-42. Access is regulated by Section III.A.2 and III.A.3. Boxes 56, 57, and 62 mostly contain annual reports and meeting minutes from various committees, particularly faculty meeting minutes, and are also restricted.

There are no access restrictions on the rest of the collection, which is open to all members of the public in accordance with state law.

Use Restrictions

The researcher assumes full responsibility for conforming with the laws of libel, privacy, and copyright which may be involved in the use of this collection (Wisconsin Statutes 19.21-19.39).

Acquisition Information

The School of Nursing transferred the majority of the collection before 1989. Additional accessions were transferred by the School of Nursing in 1993 (1993-011) and 2002 (accession 2001-063) and by the College of Nursing in 2007 (accession 2007-004) and in 2009 (accessions 2009-009 and 2009-010). Libby Lundeen from the College of Nursing donated additional materials in July 2009 (accession 2009-001). Laurie Glass donated additional materials in August 2013 (accession 2013-014). The College donated additional materials in May 2014 (accession 2013-046), June 2014 (accession 2013-052), and September 2014 (accession 2014-020). Accession 2015-016 was separated from the Institute for Urban Health Partnerships (accession 2015-012) in October 2015. The College transferred accession 2016-004 in July 2016.

Processing Information

Roselene Springer processed the collection in January-June 1993 at the Archives. Ellen Engseth processed the Lang records in March and April of 1997. Ellen Engseth also added an accession of committee meeting minutes (1993-011) as well as miscellaneous planning documents in April 1997. Jeremy Brett added a few files in November 2006 to bring the collection's last year up to 1998. Matt Shoemaker processed accessions 2007-004 and 2001-063 in July and August 2008 (Brad Houston supervised). Bob Jaeger processed accessions 2009-009 and 2009-010 in March and April of 2010 (Brad Houston supervised). Hayley Jackson updated the finding aid to include information about accession 2009-001 in August 2013. Christel Maass updated the finding aid to include information about 2013-046 in May 2014. Zac Baldauf added additional material to the collection in September 2014 (Brad Houston supervised). Tim Cary processed accession 2013-052 in February and March 2015. Christel Maass processed accession 2015-016 in October 2015. Phyllis Reske processed accessions 2013-014 and 2014-020 in June 2016 (Brad Houston supervised). Christel Maass added a box of materials received before 1990 (box 67) to the collection in September 2016. Claire Dinkelman processed accession 2016-004 (boxes 68-70) in spring and summer 2017 (Brad Houston and Christel Maass supervised). Christel Maass added an additional item to the collection in November 2017.
