Access Restrictions

The unclassified personnel files in boxes 15-25, as well as accession 2009-016, accession 2014-003, and accession 2015-034 are restricted in accordance with UWM Personnel File Policy S-42. Access is regulated by Section III. A.2 and III. A.3. Consult an archivist for details.

There are no access restrictions on the rest of the collection, which is open to all members of the public in accordance with state law.

Use Restrictions

The researcher assumes full responsibility for conforming with the laws of libel, privacy, and copyright which may be involved in the use of this collection (Wisconsin Statutes 19.21-19.39).

Acquisition Information

The collection originally consisted of numerous smaller series transferred to the Archives before 1989. The office transferred boxes 26-28 in January 1997. The School transferred additional materials in September 2009 (accession 2009-016), in August 2013 (accession 2013-008), in July 2014 (accessions 2014-003 and 2014-006), in April 2015 (accession 2014-041), in March 2016 (2015-034), in June 2016 (accession 2015-053), in May 2018 (accession 2018-002), and in July 2022 (accession 2022-027).

Processing Information

Christel Maass reprocessed the collection between February and September 1993. Judith Johnson processed the addition of boxes 26-28 in February 1997. Christel Maass added some miscellaneous materials to the collection in October 1997 (boxes 29-30). Jessica Sawinski processed additional material in December 2006. Charles Welborn processed additional material in July 2012. Christel Maass updated the finding aid to include information about accessions 2009-016 and 2013-008 in September 2013, and updated the finding aid again in August 2014 to include information about accession 2014-003. Brad Houston processed some additional materials in December 2014. Greg Comly performed some reorganization of accession 2014-003 in March 2015. Brad Houston reboxed, refoldered, and created an inventory for accession 2014-041 in April 2015. Molly Whiteside (supervised by Christel Maass) processed accession 2014-006 in October 2015 (boxes 31-33). Ashlie Biddle (supervised by Brad Houston) updated the finding aid and integrated part of accession 2014-003 into the main collection in May 2016 (boxes 34-36). Brad Houston and Phyllis Reske integrated additional materials from accession 2014-003 into the main collection in June 2016 (Boxes 37-38). Christel Maass added the brochures from accession 2015-053 to the collection in July 2016. Phyllis Reske processed accession 2013-008 in September 2017 (boxes 39-41). Christel Maass processed accession 2018-002 (boxes 42-44) in August 2018. Shiraz Bhathena processed electronic records from accession 2014-006 in April 2019. Lauran Slagle minimally processed accession 2022-027 in February 2023
