These opinions, and those for the years 1927-1935, were presented to the Archives Division by Supreme Court Clerk Arthur McLeod in 1955. The 1927-1935 opinions were destroyed per RDA on the basis that the only official opinions are those printed in the Wisconsin Reports. Those from 1897-1927 were never found by the present clerk; these were presumed to have been destroyed. Present practice by the Supreme Court Clerk is to destroy the typed Opinions within a few years after they appear in the Wisconsin Reports.
