Richard Boudreau Papers, 1974-1990

Scope and Content

The Richard Boudreau papers include materials related to the publication of his work, Literary Heritage of Wisconsin, Volume I: Beginnings to 1925, transcripts and notes on his Wisconsin Public Radio programs, and subject files on various Wisconsin authors, including a large collection of essays on Midwest regional author August Derleth. In addition, this collection includes 3 boxes containing materials from Boudreau’s research on Wisconsin author Hamlin Garland related to the author’s travels, life, and writings. Furthermore, there are materials related to Hamlin’s house which is located in West Salem and materials associated with a play about Garland. Lastly, there is an abundance of materials on Wisconsin poets and authors from Western Wisconsin including articles, newspaper clippings, photocopies of their work, pamphlets, and correspondences.
