The club was organized in 1933. Affiliated with the Wisconsin Extension Homemaker Council, the club's stated purpose was to develop, strengthen and correlate all interests which advance home and community life; to develop leadership and initiative among Wisconsin women; and to foster the development of children, homes, and community life. The state organization was a member of the National Extension Homemakers Council, composed of 43 state councils composed of rural and urban women.
