Biography/History

Les Foyers du Soldat, organized by the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in Europe during World War I, was an official welfare organization. It set up canteens for soldiers to visit while on leave, providing a place to sleep, relax, eat, and bathe, as well as entertainment such as music or films.
