Processing Information

The majority of the captions was supplied by Carolyn Every, the wife of Rod Every, for images 1-41. These were taken from the envelopes where the negatives (and some prints) were stored. For images 42-45, Wisconsin Historical Society (WHS) staff has created a brief descriptive caption. Captions for images 46-52 were derived from captions that were in Every's photo-album, as evidenced by the photocopies provided. The numbering system was imposed by WHS staff, and is a single system for prints and negatives. When possible, copy prints and negatives have been matched, and assigned the same image identification number. Information is included for whether the image is available as a print, negative, or both. Images were re-housed from original envelopes and folders.
