Papers of Betty Gannett, an officer of the Communist Party (USA) primarily relating to her work as a Marxist theoretician, writer, and teacher. The majority of the collection consists of lectures and papers, notes, and writings of other kinds on political and educational topics, primarily the Communist Party, the role of economics in society, history, philosophy, and scientific socialism. There is also a very small quantity of personal correspondence (including some letters from Elizabeth Gurley Flynn), 1942-1971, and some material relating to the litigation to deport her under provisions of the Smith Act. On tape is a recording of Gannett's funeral. English
