Scope and Content Note: This first portion of the Stan T. Pelecky papers consists of correspondence and a legislative subject file. The former is arranged chronologically and the latter alphabetically according to the categories selected by Pelecky himself. The correspondence is exclusively incoming letters and telegrams from constituents and special interest groups relating to various bills being considered by the Assembly. The legislative subject file contains clippings, legal documents, legislative bills, notices and circular letters with enclosures, pertaining to legislation considered by the Assembly during Pelecky's two year term, and partially documenting his role in introducing certain bills, and supporting others.

Series: Part II: Materials Added in 1974, 1959-1966
Scope and Content Note: Types of material included in the additions which were not present in the original collection include a numerical bill file containing Pelecky's handwritten notes and issue papers written by him and others on pending legislation, typed and handwritten notes for speeches (unfortunately these are not dated, nor is the audience identified), and working files concerning his interest in various consumer-oriented bills considered during the 1963-1964 session. The files on consumer legislation also relate to his work on that part of the Wisconsin Democratic Party platform. A few items document his political activities prior to election to the Legislature.
