Polish National Alliance of the United States of North America. Lodge 365: Records, 1928-1979

Scope and Content Note

The records that comprise this collection were apparently those kept by lodge financial secretary Walczyk, as financial materials predominate. There is a loan book, 1933-1974, listing loans on insurance policies paid to members and a short record of insurance sales; one volume, two books of stubs, and scattered examples of receipts for both monies received by the lodge, and insurance premiums paid by members; a premium receipt book; and a lodge cashbook. Monthly reports to the PNA National Secretary consist of computer records listing individual members' names, phone numbers, monthly insurance premiums, and other information, and provide a six year record of individuals and families belonging to the lodge. New members and policy holders are listed separately, with the amount of the policy and premium paid. Similar insurance records are located in the 1971-1978 volume entitled Manual for Financial Secretaries of the PNA. A volume with the identical title, dated 1968, is a printed handbook detailing the duties of financial secretaries, in Polish and in English. Together, the financial records in the collection provide information concerning the growth and work of the lodge, family relationships and births and deaths, and the mutual benefits aspect of the PNA.

Other records in the collection consist of a one-page summary history of Lodge 365, registration books listing members and personal information, and a folder of correspondence and other papers, mainly financial in nature.
