This collection is comprised of records pertaining to predecessor and subsidiary
lines of the Milwaukee Road. The Road may or may not have bought all of these
companies, but were most likely involved with them in some capacity. Not all of the
companies listed are railroads; coal, oil, timber, and other companies are present
as well. The materials primarily contain meeting minutes, articles of incorporation,
by-laws, and account ledgers, but other records are also included such as stock
information, reports, agreements, correspondence, and land information. Much of the
materials are in ledger or volume form. Other Milwaukee Road collections may also
contain various predecessor company records.
