The central office files consist principally of the files of John Mudd, the Executive Director, and include handwritten notes from meetings, minutes, correspondence, program proposals, financial files, memos, reports, and statistics on the state of Mississippi. Also included are reports and newspaper clippings relating to federal funding issues, the Office of Economic Opportunity, the civil rights movement, and a few other Mississippi social activist organizations. The teacher development files include resource manuals for curriculum and classroom activities. Sound recordings include interviews with local residents discussing their backgrounds, education, racism and civil rights activism, work, and social conditions.
