These papers primarily concern negotiations on behalf of the Brotherton Indians for lands held by the Delaware (Lenape), Miami (Myaamiaki), and Shawano (Shawnee) Indians in Indiana, and the Meskwaki (Fox), Menominee, Ojibwe, Stockbridge-Munsee, and Ho-Chunk (Winnebago) Indians in Michigan and Wisconsin. The papers also include some information on several New England Indian tribes and on the Oneida Indians of New York.
