Robinsonville United Presbyterian Church (Brown County, Wis.) Records, 1861-1972

Scope and Content Note

Two volumes of early SESSION MINUTES, 1861-1899, are located in the Presbyterian Historical Society, from which a microfilm copy was purchased. These earlier minutes are in French.

Original records in possession of the church, which have been microfilmed, consist of an Anniversary Pamphlet, Church Minutes and Record Books, and Church Registers.

The 100th ANNIVERSARY PAMPHLET includes a brief history of the church and contains information on its pastors, elders, and officers.

CHURCH MINUTES AND RECORD BOOKS consists of two volumes of minutes and assorted church registers. In addition to regular session minutes, the volumes include treasurer's reports, annual meeting reports, plus occasional separate reports regarding the Sunday School. Among topics discussed are church finances; building improvements and maintenance; church activities such as admission of new members, marriages, births, deaths, burials, and Sunday services; and the appointment and resignation of church officials. The registers include lists of pastors, elders, deacons, trustees, communicants, baptisms, marriages, and deaths. CHURCH REGISTERS record births, baptisms, marriages, church membership, deaths, and burials. The majority of these are also in French.
