Thomas St. Angelo Papers, 1960-1967

Scope and Content Note

The papers consist of Campaign Materials, Correspondence, and an Obituary. The Campaign Materials include a newspaper clipping announcing St. Angelo's decision to seek the assembly seat in 1960 and two campaign brochures dated 1960 and 1962 respectively. The Correspondence comprises the bulk of the collection and is composed of St. Angelo's constituent correspondence and his replies for the years 1962-1963. Arrangement is roughly alphabetical and thereunder chronological. Among the subjects discussed are lowering the drinking age, the sales tax and oleomargarine controversies, the problems of maintaining effective education in northern Wisconsin, and the retention of Barron County Teachers College in Rice Lake.
