The 52 volumes of typed excerpts and clippings of obituaries appear on the film in approximate chronological order and cover the period 1857-1962. Each volume is individually indexed; in addition, a cumulative index for all the volumes through 1938 appears at the beginning of the microfilm (Volumes 1 and 2). Volume numbers were assigned arbitrarily for the purposes of this film and do not appear on the originals. Volumes 3-8 were compiled mainly by Dr. Samuel T. Kidder, and the remainder by Samuel M. Pedrick, both of Ripon. Some pages may appear to contain extraneous material, since entries were mounted in old textbooks, lawyers' journals, and the like. Blank pages were omitted in filming. The cemetery inscriptions are in three volumes; Volumes 1 and 2 are indexed at the end of Volume 2, and a separate index to Volume 3 is at the end of that volume.
