The records consist of three series, documenting the three organizations: Sandley Light Railway Equipment Works; Riverside and Great Northern Railway; and the Riverside and Great Northern Preservation Society. The records consist primarily of the Sandley Light Railway Equipment Works and include financial records, correspondence and blueprints related to the manufacture of boilers, files related to the sale and maintenance of a train to the Milwaukee Zoo, a corporate record book, and an employee account of the business practices of Elmer Sandley. The records of the R. & G. N. include financial records, operating files from the 1974-1979 seasons, advertising information, correspondence, and photographs of the train and the site. The records of the Riverside and Great Northern Preservation Society include donor letters, volunteer hours, work reports, and photographs.
