Scope and Content Note: VHS videotapes of speakers at the 2003 Fighting Bob Fest, a Progressive Chautauqua conducted in the memory and spirit of Wisconsin's preeminent Progressive, Robert M. La Follette. Hosted by one-time Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Ed Garvey, the speakers included Lois Marie Gibbs, Russ Feingold, Bert Grover, Bernard Sanders, John Nichols, and Jim Hightower. The speakers critiqued the record of the Bush Administration on the environment, labor issues, political tactics, foreign policy and trade, and deregulation and provided a general indictment of the 21st Century corporate financial climate. Discussed are the economic and social justice movements, including the Tyson strike of 2003-2004 in Jefferson, Wisconsin.
