La Crosse Industrial Association, 1910-1982

Scope and Content Note

The records have been arranged into two series which provide a fairly comprehensive overview of the Association's history and activities: General Records and Records of Loans to Businesses.

Within the GENERAL RECORDS are by-laws; an incomplete file of general correspondence, mainly pertaining to loans and finances; and the Association's financial records, including cash expenditures and receipt records, reports and audits, statements of condition, and tax returns and records. There is also a history of the Association, compiled from the minutes by Mary H. Hebberd; minutes of stockholders' and directors' meetings, 1910-1974, with a corporation record including initial stock subscriptions, a copy of the charter, and by-laws; and stock records, consisting of subscription records and stock certificate books.

RECORDS OF LOANS TO BUSINESSES mainly date from the 1950s through the 1970s, and consist of small files of correspondence regarding loans made by the Association and repayment schedules, together with scattered financial records of the businesses which received loans.
