William Henry Wright and his wife Jane Evelyn immigrated from Ireland in 1849.
William was a lawyer by trade and came to America with the intention of heading to
the California gold rush, but the couple settled in Milwaukee instead. One of their
sons, Joseph E. Wright (1848-1923), married Margaret Hurlburd (1856-1919) of Benton
Harbor, Michigan, in 1877. They had three daughters. One of which, Kathleen Wright
(1878-1960), was soprano soloist. She was active in the MacDowell Club and Wisconsin
Players in Milwaukee. Another daughter of Joseph and Margaret, Daisy E. (1879-1959),
married Reverend John White (1878-1956), who presided over the funeral service of
Calvin Coolidge's father in 1926. A few other family members are included in the
scrapbook as well.
